I met the VLCC team at this year’s Hair and Wellness expo, held at the Sarit Centre. They had the most amazing presentation and they decided to give the models a dramatic look and the make up done was also very out of the ordinary. I think that they did an amazing job. After the presentation, they gave free facials and I got one. I was super excited since my birthday was in a week’s time so this was an early birthday present. When I finally went for my appointment, it went better than expected. A good facial should leave you relaxed and this facial left me both relaxed and radiant. The beauty specialist, Domiana Muiga, was very kind and professional and she even offered to give me a second facial this month, VLCC 24 CARAT GOLD FACIAL, just for me to take you through the process. So here we go:

This is where they make the client relax. So what they usually do is provide a nice gown and hair cap for the client to wear to protect their clothing and hair from the products used. The client also has to lie down on the facial bed to make the process easier and to feel more relaxed.

Cleansing milk is used to clean the face. When buying cleansers, make sure you do not buy products that are to harsh on your skin and that fit to your skin type.

When toning, rose water spray, attached to a machine, is used to open the pores and to clean them out.
This is done to open pores and soften the skin in preparation of scrubbing.

Scrubbing is done to remove dead skin. For this facial, a special type of 24 carat gold scrub is used. The scrubbing is done with a machine that has a soft brush ensuring that the skin is left soft and youthful.

Drainage is done by massaging the face for 15minutes with vitamin E oil. This ensures free flow of blood and also helps remove toxins from the face nodes. It also helps with skin rejuvenation.

A high frequency spread gauze is placed on the face then a tube is used to exercise high frequency. This helps to protect the skin from bacteria since the previous processes opened the pores making them very gullible to trapping bacteria. To me, this honestly felt tingling and it felt like a very mild electric shock.

In ordinary facials, cream masks are used but in this case, the mask comes in the form of a capsule and its mixed with rose water to open up. It’s then placed correctly on the face, leaving space for the nose and the mouth. The mask helps with the tightening of the pores.

The last step is to apply moisturizer and sunscreen. This helps protect the skin from the negative effects of UV rays. A good moisturizer is like a good friend. You always need them in your life. I use VLCC products and so far so good. Find a moisturizer that suits your skin’s PH levels and type.

The benefits of the facial is that it nourishes and revitalizes the skin and gives one a luminous radiant complexion. I have had acne for a while now and facials are a good solution for me. It keeps my skin free of oils and helps open up my pores. This process should be repeated every one or two months.
