THE BLACK AND WHITE NUMBER

Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. Kenya has been in mourning due to the Garissa University Attack that claimed 148 lives. My condolences go out to their friends and families. For the students still in the hospital fighting for their lives, I would like to wish them a quick recovery and my prayers go out to them. This post is dedicated to the 148 brothers and sisters we lost last weekend.

As we grow up, we all have different dreams we hope to achieve  and ideas that we would like to bring to life. But due to so many different reasons, we meet obstacles on the way and either hold our journey till the obstacle is gone or find a way around it. In school, were all programmed to work hard and pass our exams and be the best in everything we do. I remember telling everyone that I wanted to be a doctor just because saying those words had a ring to it and the adults always seemed pleased by the answer. When I finished my high school education, I did not know what I wanted to do. My mum devised a good way of helping me choose my own path. She asked me to write down all of my strengths and my hobbies down. After I did that we wrote all the careers that go with my characters and that’s how I ended up with a Marketing Degree. I am happy with my choice because there is so much I can do with my degree and it was my own choice. Knowledge is power and every single person has a right to education. Study what you want to study and create your own path. That’s one secret to success. During my “Black And White Number” shoot, I met a young upcoming designer called Loise Wangari, who studies at the BIFA (Buruburu Institute Of Fine Arts), one of the best design schools in Kenya. She is happy that she is able to study fashion design and hopefully  play a big role in the future of fashion in Kenya.

She joined me in my photo shoot and I had so much fun with her. She might be shy but she did well for her first photo shoot ever. I love how she paired her colorful African print skirt with the white top and oxford shoes. I cant wait to wear her designs.

I have a photo shoot giveaway this week courtesy of Glorious Photography. What you need to do to win the photo shoot.

    Hey Reina,
I am a big fan of your work. My baby girl turns one year next week. I don’t have anything special planned being mid month but this photoshoot would be a great gift to us to celebrate this milestone.
We are crossing our fingers. Kisses from us..
    Thanks.
