The cold season is back. It rained all night last night and as much as we would like to see the cold go away, it’s here for a few months. For the women who love to wear really short skirts and low cut tops and the men who cannot stay away from t-shirts and shorts, it is time to layer up. We all love to look fab but let it not come at a cost. My friends and I have come up with a list of things we would like gone this cold season.
1.THE MINI SKIRT
I am not talking about the skirts. What we all hate seeing are the tiny skirts that barely cover anything. If you are going to wear this, make sure you have heavy stockings on or you are in a night club.
2.THE SANDALS

If you do not drive, please keep your feet warm and clean by staying away from sandals, especially the half sandal half boot popular in Nairobi. Most parts of the city are muddy and wet and the city is crowded, meaning, someone might just get tempted to step on you or an inconsiderate driver might splash water on you. Getting to meetings with muddy sandals is not something your clients or bosses will like
3.THE PAPER BAG HAT

This is one thing I have never understood. Why would anyone carry a shower cap in their handbags just to put it on when it starts raining in town? The paper bag on head syndrome is freaky (in a bad way). Especially to guys. I understand that women do this to protect their hair from damage but there are other ways of doing this, like carrying an umbrella or a shawl / leso.
4. THE SUNDRESSES
Sundresses are pretty and I have a lot of them in my closet but during the cold weather, when the wind blows continuously, its best to stay away from them.

5.THE 6 INCH HEELS.
Again, if you do not own a car or work in an office that is cleaned every 5 minutes and does not have tiles that will make you slide, then stay away from these tempting shoes. When it rains, all floors are wet especially in busy areas like banks or shopping malls because water from the shoes easily wets the floors so falling is very possible. This kind of falls can cause serious injuries .Its best to wear comfortable and low heel shoes.
6.THE WHITE TROUSER
Really? Where should I start? The fact that a white trouser can get dirty easily especially with a lot of mud and dirty water around during the rain and it will be left looking like it has brown polka dots on it. Wear dark shades.

7.FISHNET STOCKINGS.
As much as it is a good idea to have warm clothing on during the cold, fish net stockings are not the answer. Many Kenyan women find the cold an excuse to wear these things to work. I think it is very unprofessional to wear fishnets to work not only during the rain but EVER!

8.TOO MUCH MAKEUP.
Wear minimal make up and get water proof make up the mascara and the, especially mascara and eyeliner , if you do not want to look like a character from the walking the dead.

Anything we forgot?
